Arcos del Sitios, Mexico

This was a speed painting - it was 1.5 hours.  Since I only had a short amount of time, this painting is a lot more loose than my usual style of hyper-realistic works. The story behind it lies during Thanksgiving Break in 2016, when my father and I went to Mexico City. We took a day trip to Tepotzotlan. It was an extremely charming town. From there, we took a taxi to Los Arcos del Sitio, a beautiful aqueduct about forty five minutes away. It was created in the 18th century during colonial times for transferring water. The hike and views there were stunning and I took many pictures as artistic inspiration. My painting does not do the actual aqueduct justice, as it is one of the largest and tallest in Latin America.
